Hello girls,
Imagine it is the 2nd of June already girls. In some ways, it only seems like yesterday that we got news of the lockdown on the 12th March and in other ways it seems like a lifetime ago. I'm so proud of you all and all the hard work you are doing and all the new skills you have been learning.
In good news, myself and Ms. Linden have been talking and we are hoping to finish most of the written work on Friday 12th June. We will then turn to some fun easy activities until 26th June and then you are officially free and finished 4th Class and on your summer holidays.
So I ask that you bear with me until the 12th June and keep up the fantastic effort you are making. I know you are tired of this remote learning and would much rather be at school having your Drumcondra English, Spelling and Maths Tests!!!!!
No seriously, I know you are missing fun things like the class tour, DGNS Talent Show, going to the 5th class musical, the Annual Cake Sale, saying goodbye to our lovely 6th Class and of course ice-cream on the Sports Day. Well I am working on a few things and I might have one or two surprises for you between now and the 26th so please hang in there and keep up the work. As I have said before, it will be worth all the time and effort.
This week, we have a birthday on Friday and it is Clodagh who will be celebrating. Happy birthday Clodagh and have a great day.
Finally, I asked you a few weeks ago to send me a piece of written work based on your Covid 19 experience. I know a few of you didn't get a chance to send it or if you did, you might like to update it or do a piece of art work/photos to accompany it.
Mrs McCloughan thought it would be nice to compile a book/ record from each class and keep it in the School Library for future generations to read about this never before experienced pandemic. This is open to mums and dads too if they fancy being part of our class book. It would be great to have parents' perspective too.
Imagine in years to come, it could be your daughters, granddaughters, nieces, or cousins reading all about you and your class and your experience of Covid 19 in the year 2020. This week I am going to write mine and I will ask Danielle if she would like to do the same.
There is no rush with it but it would be great if you had it completed before the 20th June so I can start compiling it and then pass it along to Mrs McCloughan.
Mind yourselves girls and I truly truly miss each one of you so much.
Keep safe,
Ms. Colgan
